Gruppo punk/pop/emo proveniente da Chicago. Hanno da poco (6 febbraio 2007) pubblicato il loro quinto album.
La band è composta da Patrick Stump (voce e chitarra), Peter Wentz (basso, seconda voce), Joe Trohman (chitarra) e Andrew Hurley (batteria).
Si sono formati nel 2000 ma hanno pubblicato il loro album di esordio "Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend" solo nel 2003. Subito è arrivato anche il contratto con una major, infatti nello stesso anno del disco d'esordio hanno firmato con l'etichetta Island. L'anno successivo il gruppo pubblica un secondo album che spiazza i fan, infatti si tratta di un lavoro totalmente acustico. Nel 2005 la storia della band è caratterizzata dal tentativo di suicidio, mediante l'ingerimento di una forte dose di sedativi, del leader Peter Wentz. Il chitarrista e autore di tutti i testi del gruppo si salva e subito dopo i F.O.B. pubblicano il loro album di maggiore successo. Nel 2005 esce infatti "From Under The Cork Tree" che contiene canzoni di successo come "Sugar We're Goin' Down", "Dance, Dance" e "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me". Nel 2007 la band ha pubblicato "Infinity On High".
